Privacy policy

Your files stay private. Your account data stays limited.

This policy explains what SlideOnPoint processes when you use the comparison tool, create an account, or purchase a subscription.

1. Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to the SlideOnPoint website, account features, PowerPoint comparison service, and subscription features. SlideOnPoint is the service responsible for the personal information described here.

2. Presentation files and comparison results

Your selected .pptx files are opened and compared locally by your browser. SlideOnPoint does not upload or retain the presentation files, slide text, images, speaker notes, comments, or generated comparison result on its servers. Refreshing or closing the page clears the active browser comparison. PDF reports are generated locally and downloaded to the location you choose.

3. Information we process

  • Account information: your email address, display name when supplied by your sign-in provider, account identifier, selected plan, onboarding status, comparison count, and account timestamps.
  • Guest usage information: a random essential-cookie identifier is stored in hashed form with the number of comparisons used and related timestamps.
  • Subscription information: billing customer and subscription identifiers, product, subscription status, and next billing date. Dodo Payments processes checkout and payment-method information.
  • Authentication information: session information needed to keep you signed in. If you choose Google or Microsoft sign-in, that provider supplies the basic account information you authorize.
  • Operational information: hosting and service providers may process standard request information such as IP address, browser details, timestamps, and security logs to deliver and protect the service.

4. How we use information

  • Authenticate you and maintain your account.
  • Apply guest, Free, and Pro usage allowances.
  • Start checkout, confirm subscription status, and provide billing management.
  • Prevent abuse, investigate failures, and protect the service.
  • Respond to support, privacy, refund, and legal requests.

5. Essential cookies

SlideOnPoint uses an authentication session and a random guest-usage cookie. These are required for sign-in, security, and comparison allowances. The current service does not use advertising cookies, product analytics, or external error-monitoring tools.

6. Service providers

SlideOnPoint uses Vercel for application hosting, Supabase for authentication and account data, and Dodo Payments for checkout, subscription billing, and customer billing management. Google and Microsoft are used only when you select their sign-in option. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.

7. Sharing and sale of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information with the service providers above only to operate SlideOnPoint, or when required to comply with law, protect users, prevent fraud, or enforce our Terms of Service.

8. Retention and security

Account and subscription records are retained while needed to provide the service, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. Authentication and guest cookies expire or can be removed through your browser. We use access controls, encrypted connections, restrictive browser security headers, and signed billing webhooks, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with your account. You may also cancel a subscription through the account billing portal. Applicable law may provide additional rights, including objection, restriction, portability, or complaint rights. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

10. Children

SlideOnPoint is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Users must also meet any higher minimum age required by the law where they live.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date. Privacy requests can be sent to support@slideonpoint.com. You can also review our Trust & Security page.

Effective 2 September 2026.
